Another one of those days where I was going through my closet, scrambling for an outfit. Since the weather was surprisingly cool, I decided to go with my light pink DKNY sweater shawl. This is one of my favorite sweaters. It's cool, lightweight and looks very flattering when worn with denim shorts. And the over the knee high black stockings! Another favorite summer accessory! It looks more interesting than a regular pair of hoisery. A blend of pink, white, and denim make for a summer color ensemble. I found the bird ring at a local jewelry boutique located on Santee Street. They carry an array of jewelry so I like to pop in every now and then and check for new merchandise.

Vintage is the theme. Walking through the streets of 9th and Santee Street, the vintage pieces have really caught my eye. I love the mix of the 70's gold sequin top and the red lipstick. A fun and interesting way to wear gold in the summer.

Found at a local thrift store. A great place to find hidden vintage treasure.

Discovering the World of Vintage

I decided to be in this photoshoot because Damaris was kind enough to come over and do my hair and makeup. I jumped at the chance since she is amazing at what she does! For the photoshoot, I wore a velvet burnout jacket with fringes. I paired the burnout with a black lace body suit from American Apparel, Forever 21 stockings, Jeffrey Campbell lace up wedges, and my favorite zipper detailed purse. I found this velvet burnout when shopping in Downtown with a friend and that was the day, I discovered the amazing world of vintage!

I love the versatility of the burnout jacket! It goes well with everything. And the details of this European-inspired piece creates a one of a kind look. Definitely a Little Girl Big World favorite.

A Day in Mission Street

Mission Street in Pasadena is one of my favorite local spots. Since I love the indie-bohemian feel of this area, I had Jess wear a black jersey maxi skirt and my favorite racerback tank. It opens in the back, which is great for this summer heat. To add some length to Jess' petite frame, the maxi paired with wedge sandals is perfect for adding some height.

Ivory Lace Shorts, Floral Headband, and Black Wedges

Finally, a perfect day to bring out these ivory lace shorts! To promote Little Girl Big World's new clothing line, Cc, Duncan and I went to Pasadena for a photo shoot.

I had Cc wear two items from our collection. In this photo, she is wearing ivory lace shorts with snap buttons paired with a black sleeveless, button-down blouse with lace detail. And we can't forget the black suede wedges that I found at Aldo! If you noticed, we feel that this pump truly completes the outfit.

These lace bottoms are a Little Girl Big World's favorite! It is definitely a summer essential.

Summer Fave: Bohemian Inspired Headpiece

One of Little Girl Big World's favorites is the Bohemian Inspired Headpiece! I didn't have anything nearly as chic as Nicole Richie's "gold seven strand headband," which can be found at Kitson, but I did find this headpiece that Cc is wearing at a sale that Urban Outfitters had a few years back. This little accessory makes a statement all on its own.

I am a fan of American Apparel! The Cotton Spandex Jersey Double U-neck dress is extremely comfortable and versatile. The great thing about a simple and well fitted dress is that the details complete the outfit.

I love the fit of this dress and that is why it is one of my favorites. While most dresses can drown a petite girl in all that fabric, the cotton jersey mini dress is very flattering.
